Yeah, I will do it again one day. The plan is to do it from the Mexican border and go as far as I can toward Canada through the mountains all the way. That should take a day or two, whaddya think? LOL

Depends upon what field you work in. For instance, I work in the Psych field and there isn't many positions here in that field.
The good jobs are in Lassen county...more opportunities as well as better pay in comparison to Plumas county.
But you know, even though I make less money than I did while living in So Cali, I wouldn't trade the beauty and quality of life I enjoy here for all the high-paying jobs of the city..ever.
So, for me the trade off was well worth it.
Guess it just depends upon what you hold important in life.

Mick, Job market is booming here... Just about all trades. Guy is a Manager of a Mine in Lassen County for Pozzolon.. he can't keep enough people employed due to so many great jobs out here. Too many jobs and not enough people... If you are in Northern Cali and want to work there is a job for you, thats for sure. Pay is decent too.

I have to agree with you it is some of the most beautiful country in the world here in Northern Cali... Sierra Nevada Mountains, Tahoe National Forest, some of the most awe inspiring country I have ever seen.
Most definitely! I live in the Plumas county area and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. We've got it all here...rivers, lakes, creeks, forests, clean air and water, wild critters...you name it.
And as a hard-core hiker, don't think I'd be happy anywhere else.
Moved here from Southern Calif. about 3 years ago and don't regret it all. Could never go back to city livn'.
Problem is....seems to be a shortage of good men up here.
